My top three books for June are quite diverse, offering a range of genres and storytelling styles. One delves into historical fantasy, another explores realistic fiction, and the third ventures into the realm of science fiction.

  1. Foul Lady Fortune by Chloe Gong

First, we have Chloe Gong’s “Foul Lady Fortune”, a sequel to her  ‘These Violent Delights’ series. Set in 1930s Shanghai, this book blends historical elements with fantasy and Gong’s attention to detail and ability to craft complex characters make this a must-read for fans of historical fantasy.

  1. Tomorrow, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin

This book was recommended by my English teacher, and I decided to give it a try. “Tomorrow, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow” by Gabrielle Zevin stands out for its portrayals of life’s challenges and revolves around two gamers who navigate the complexities of friendship, creativity and ambition. Zevin’s writing style and character development creates a compelling story for anyone who enjoys realistic fiction.

  1. Dune by Frank Herbert

Lastly, we have the iconic “Dune” by Frank Herbert, a book that has not only won numerous awards but also been adapted into a highly acclaimed film. Set on the desert planet of Arrakis, the story follows Paul Atreides as he navigates through power, survival and destiny. Herbert’s masterful storytelling and the epic scale of the narrative make “Dune” a must-read for any science fiction enthusiast.

These three books offer a diverse reading experience, each bringing something unique to the table. Whether you’re in the mood for historical fantasy, realistic fiction, or science fiction, there’s something here to capture your imagination and keep you turning the pages.
